We are located at 3456 Tyson Road in South Reading, 3.4 miles west of Route 106. Map

If you live in Reading, West Windsor, or an adjacent community that does not have a food pantry, we are here to help you in difficult times. Everything we offer is available free of charge. The food shelf offers canned, frozen, and packaged foods, dairy products, fresh produce when available, and frozen meats. Toiletry items, household products, and pet food are also offered when available.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we operate with friendly curb-side service. We have had to suspend our clothing shelf due to lack of space, and cannot currently accept clothing donations.

Donate Goods

Many members of the community donate goods to The Reading-West Windsor Food Shelf. Below are some of the things that we need. Unless otherwise indicated below, items can be dropped off Mondays, from 2:00 to 4:00 and Thursdays, from 4:00 to 6:00, except holidays.

Please note that due to space constraints we are unable to accept clothing or books at this time.

Canned and boxed food - We always need these. Make sure that expiration dates have not passed and that cans and boxes are in good condition. Popular items are crackers, cookies, pancake mix, baking mixes, baked beans, canned tuna, canned chicken, canned vegetables, and canned fruit.

Fresh fruits and vegetables - These are a special treat and always greatly appreciated. Please make sure that produce is in good condition, such that you would serve it to your own family and guests.

Eggs - Fresh from your hens are the best!

Beef and lamb - If you are slaughtering an animal and would like to share some of the meat with those in need in our community, please contact us to make arrangements for delivery.

Hygiene and Personal Care Items - We need soaps, shampoos, conditioners, bath gels, disposable razors, shaving cream, deodorant, tampons, sanitary napkins, and disposable baby diapers.

New toys and gift certificates - These are for the Christmas gift baskets that are distributed to each client family of the Food Shelf. Please donate these items during the month of November.
