Serving Our Community

Monday 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Thursday 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

If you live in Reading , West Windsor or an adjacent community that does not have a food pantry, we are here to help you in difficult times. Please contact us or drop by for a cup of coffee and find out how we can meet your needs, including assistance in applying for 3SquaresVT (formerly known as the food stamp program) and deliveries, if you are home bound. Our shelves are filled with a broad assortment of foods including fresh milk, eggs, bread and produce as well as meat, canned good and much more.

In addition to food , we operate a well-stocked clothing room with a good selection of children's and adults' apparel. Clothing is available free of charge to all residents of communities we serve - not just RWWFS clients.

Also, some personal care products and children's and adult books are typically available.

Everything we offer is available to you, free of charge.

Volunteer

The Reading-West Windsor Food Shelf is an all-volunteer organization. We could not operate without a dedicated corps of local residents who do the following:

  1. Order food, unload delivery trucks and stock shelves
  2. Make runs to the Vermont Food Bank in Brattleboro to pick up food
  3. Deliver food to clients who are homebound
  4. Pick up food from folks who donate fruits from their orchards and vegetables from their gardens
  5. Sort, fold and display donated clothing
  6. Pack gift boxes for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter
  7. Clean the facility
  8. Serve on the Board of Directors

More than 25 individuals currently volunteer their services. If you wish to volunteer, please complete an application and e-mail it to info@rwwfoodshelf.org or mail it to:Groceries
