Serving Our Community

For the latest news visit Facebook

Monday 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Thursday 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

We are located at 3456 Tyson Road in South Reading, 3.4 miles west of Route 106. Map

If you live in Reading, West Windsor, or an adjacent community that does not have a food pantry, we are here to help you in difficult times. Everything we offer is available free of charge. The food shelf offers canned, frozen, and packaged foods, dairy products, fresh produce when available, and frozen meats. Toiletry items, household products, and pet food are also offered when available.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we operate with friendly curb-side service. We have had to suspend our clothing shelf due to lack of space, and cannot currently accept clothing donations.

Volunteer

The Reading-West Windsor Food Shelf is an all-volunteer organization. We could not operate without a dedicated corps of local residents who do the following:

  1. Order food, unload delivery trucks and stock shelves
  2. Volunteer at the Food Shelf during our open hours: M 2-4, Th 4-6
  3. Make runs to the various local grocery stores and farmer’s markets to pick up food
  4. Deliver food to clients who are homebound
  5. Pack gift boxes for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter
  6. Help to keep the facility clean!

Some volunteer jobs are more physically demanding than others. If you are interested in volunteering and/or are not sure how you might best fit in, give us a call! We look forward to hearing from you!
